Meet the Director
Bruce Michael QualeBruce Michael Quale (B. Michael or Mike) was born May 17th, 1950 in Williston, North Dakota. He grew up in Watford City, North Dakota where his parents owned and operated Dakota Clothing. After graduating High School, he furthered his education at North Dakota State University in Fargo where he graduated with a double major in English and Sociology and a minor in Theatre. While in school, he was active in the Blue Key All Campus Musicals, NDSU Theatre Department, and he was choreographer of the College Dance Company.

B. Michael has been involved in Entertainment, Inc! from very early on in its history. He directed and choreographed the very first Entertainment, Inc! production “Brigadoon” before being hired as Artistic Director in 1993. He was hired part-time and five years later, his position was given full-time status. His time is usually taken up by quite a number of responsibilities including directing, set design, season selection and scheduling, costuming, grant writing, volunteer coordinator, and general business manager.

Working for one of the smallest community theaters in North Dakota also means working with the smallest budget—much of which is his salary. Still, he manages to eke out a living. However, it is the love of theater, not money, which keeps B. Michael motivated. He says he often runs into people who are envious and would love to be doing the same thing he is doing.
