"Jekyll and Hyde" Auditions

Two audition dates are provided for your scheduling convenience. It is not mandatory to attend both. Please note the ages below are stage ages, meaning they are open to interpretation by the director in order to cast the strongest show possible. Those auditioning will be asked to sing a selection from Jekyll and Hyde learned upon arrival at the auditions. Solo, small group, and chorus singing roles are available. You will not need to sing solo at auditions unless you are interested in a solo role. Auditioners will also be asked to cold read a scene with other auditioners, scripts will be provided. The first read through will take place Sunday February 12th at 3:00pm CST in the lower level of the Old Armory Theatre. Rehearsals will take place most evenings (Monday-Thursday). Also Sunday afternoons will be utilized for music rehearsals. As the weeks pass more rehearsals will be added. Please bring a list of any scheduling conflicts you may have. Some scheduling flexibility is available however please note the following rehearsals and all performance dates are mandatory if you cannot attend any of the following rehearsals/performances please indicate all scheduling conflicts on your audition sheet. The Sunday before the show opens is a mandatory all day rehearsal. Also, the week leading up to opening night there will be mandatory evening rehearsals. An evocative tale of the epic battle between good and evil, Jekyll and Hyde is based on Robert Louis Stevenson's classic story about a brilliant doctor whose experiments with human personality create a murderous counterpart. Convinced the cure for his father's mental illness lies in the separation of Man's evil nature from his good, Dr. Henry Jekyll unwittingly unleashes his own dark side, wreaking havoc in the street of late 19th century London as the savage, maniacal Edward Hyde.

As well as a chorus of various classes, ages, and vocal ranges rounding the cast out to about 30 people. Some roles may be doubling as ensemble members or other characters listed above.
