It is with regret that we announce that Entertainment, Inc! will no longer be performing "Chicago: The Musical" this season. Regret, because not only is it a spectacular show, it is also one of the most anticipated productions we have ever announced. Sadly, the very popularity that made "Chicago" so thrilling is also the cause of our cancellation. In order for a company to produce a show, that company has to first obtain the rights, and agree to pay royalties. "Chicago" has recently become the single most requested play, by theatre groups both professional and amateur. With so many professional touring companies performing a play, the licensing agent restricts the number of volunteer(or amateur)groups that can purchase the show's rights. Entertainment, Inc! falls into the second category. However, we still have high hopes that we will be able to do "Chicago" sometime in the near future.
Instead of "Chicago", Entertainment, Inc! will be putting on a production beloved by generations: "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." A production that is as much fun for the performers as it is for the audience, "Joseph" is delightful for all. Unlike most musicals, "Joseph" features music of many different styles. An excellent family show, it tells the biblical story of Joseph and his coat of many colors. With music by Andrew Lloyd Weber, and lyrics by Tim Rice it's pretty hard to go wrong. For those grieving the loss of "Chicago," rest assured: "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" will more than make up for it.
